The daycare request: one teacher, twelve hours straight

Back when I ran a daycare, I had an enrollment consultation for a three-month-old.과거 어린이집을 했을때 태어난지 3개월 된 입소 상담 중

“Director, I think attachment is important. I’d like the same teacher to stay until 7:30 p.m.”원장님. 저는 애착이 중요한 것 같아요. 그래서 선생님이 7시 30분까지 바뀌지 않았으면 좋겠어요.

The baby’s drop-off time was 7:30 a.m.아기의 등원이 7시 30분이다.

“Ma’am, under labor law, teachers work eight hours.”어머니~ 근로기준법에 의해 8시간 근무입니다.

“Then what about my baby?”그럼 우리 아이는 어떡해요?

“We don’t have teachers working those hours.”그렇게 근무 하시는 선생님은 없습니다.

“Then what if the baby suddenly dies in their sleep?”그럼 자다가 돌연사가 생기면 어떡해요?

“I’m sorry, but daycare doesn’t seem like the right fit. I’d suggest hiring a sitter.”죄송하지만 어린이집엔 적합하지 않으니, 시터를 고용하면 좋겠습니다.

They immediately filed a complaint with city hall. The official was dumbfounded.그 분은 바로 시청에 민원을 넣었음. 주무관이 어이 없어 함.
