Okay, let me tell you about our new hire's mistakes today

Told them to order 13 Americanos — they ordered 33.

Yesterday I said set up snacks for the meeting room, they grabbed every snack in the pantry. Thought we were on a grocery run.

The day before, told them to tidy up the meeting minutes doc — they cut the paper into pieces.

The day before that, told them to book a company car for an outside meeting — they booked one car per person attending.

It's like watching a sitcom all week.

💡 Wait, why did cutting paper count as "tidying up"?
The Korean word 다듬다 (dadeumda) usually means "refine/polish" a document, but it's the same word used for physically trimming something's edges — they took it literally and grabbed scissors.vs. English: like telling someone to "clean up this report" and they bring out a vacuum.Klore note

Caffeine 2.5x refill unlocked. All-you-can-eat buffet opened. 'Huh? I did trim it??' One machine per person, Power Rangers style.

I did something similar with the 'organize the doc' thing as a newbie. Boss just said 'organize it' with zero detail, then walked off. I stacked stuff by name and got laughed at. Fucking hell, what do you expect from someone one month in with vague orders like that?

This new hire seems like someone who'd learn fast if just shown a concrete example. Not fireable-level bad. But mishearing 13 as 33 tho...

Never a dull moment lol. Her trainer's stomach must be in knots.

With mistakes on that level, someone needs to double-check her work starting from the car booking thing.

She probably handles most tasks fine but just brain-freezes sometimes and does that lol. Probably...

Except for the coffee thing, the trainer's also at fault. If you just tell a total newbie 'do it' with no details, most people would screw up like that.

After seeing her dump out all the snacks, you'd already get the vibe. Why keep giving her solo tasks after that?

The paper-cutting one makes me question her comprehension, but the rest seem like simple miscommunication. Stuff that happens when you vaguely instruct someone who doesn't know the details yet.

How 13 became 33 — maybe she heard '13' repeated so many times it blended into '33' in her head lol.
